History
Sanctuary Church began in 2019 as a gathering of believers who sought to form a welcoming community for those searching to fully experience the generous and life-changing love of God. Our founding pastors, Scott and Naomi Gaglardi, quickly had to pivot during the pandemic, meeting for outdoor dinners in the Gaglardi backyard. Once regular meetings resumed the table remained the centre of our gatherings, which is reinforced by our weekly dinner parties and monthly brunch.
Our worship services are conducted the second and fourth Sundays of every month, with community tables coming together on the third Sunday of each month for brunch. Although we have had a few different meeting places over the years, in January 2024 we found a home at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre.
We acknowledge that we meet, pray, worship, and support each other and our community on the unceded, ancestral territory of the Ts‘elxwéyeqw people. We are thankful to the ancestors for their stewardship of the land and are committed to truth and reconciliation in the way of Jesus.

Foundational Values
We put Jesus first…in our theology, devotional practices, priorities, and in our relationships with our friends, family, neighbours, co-workers, country, the global world, and the natural world.
We live Spirit-empowered…which gives us the strength and wisdom to live like Jesus and love like Jesus.
We move toward people…just as Jesus moved toward us in his birth, life, ministry, death, and resurrection.
We bring hope…holding expectation, trust and confidence in the future because of what Jesus has done for us.
We speak life…authentically, without cynicism, rooted in the work and the life of Jesus Christ.
We practice hospitality…opening our homes and tables, believing that Jesus welcomes us into deep relationship with each other as we meet around the table
Our Logo
Symbol
The bowls in our logo are intentionally imperfectly stacked, symbolizing the beauty in imperfection. They remind us that gathering together in communion and worship is about connection, love, and grace - not perfection. Each bowl represents the unique contribution of every person to our shared community.
Font
Our font is warm and inviting, reflecting our belief that everyone is welcome. It embodies openness, approachability, and the heart of a community where all are embraced.
Colours
The vibrant coral signifies hope, warmth, and joy, while the grounding grey represents stability, trust, and the strength of our shared foundation. Together, they express a balance of encouragement and rootedness in our faith.
